Battlefield 6 Challenge System Getting Major Overhaul in Upcoming Updates

Battlefield Studios has officially responded to community feedback regarding Battlefield 6’s in-game challenges, confirming that a major rework is on the way.

The studio says the goal is to make challenges “more straightforward” and “faster to complete,” addressing long-standing complaints from players who found many of them unreasonably grind-heavy.

These updates will roll out across two separate patches, and early details already show a massive drop in requirements for some of the most demanding objectives.

⚙️ Why Battlefield 6 Challenges Needed an Overhaul

Players have voiced frustration for months over Battlefield 6’s progression system — particularly the challenges tied to essential unlocks like new weapons, gadgets, and class upgrades.

While players didn’t mind difficult tasks, many challenges required extreme and repetitive actions, such as landing hundreds of long-range sniper headshots or performing thousands of repairs in a single match type.

Some players even resorted to using bot-hosted Portal servers to “farm” progress — until those were shut down, leaving completionists stuck with seemingly impossible objectives.

🔧 Example Changes Coming to Battlefield 6 Challenges

In the latest Battlefield 6 Community Update, the developers shared a preview of how challenge requirements will be adjusted. While not every challenge has been detailed yet, the examples below paint a clear picture of the upcoming simplifications:

  • Class Assignment – Assault 1:

    • Old: Get 30 kills while using the Adrenaline Injector

    • New: Get 3 kills while using the Adrenaline Injector

  • Class Assignment – Engineer Expert 3:

    • Old: Repair 6,000 vehicle damage in a single match

    • New: Repair 1,000 vehicle damage in a match

  • Weapon Assignment – Deadeye 2:

    • Old: Get 150 sniper headshot kills over 200m

    • New: Get 5 sniper headshot kills (distance requirement to be reduced in a later update)

These updates aim to make the grind less punishing and allow players to unlock meaningful content through normal gameplay instead of time-consuming exploits.

🧩 When the Updates Are Coming

The studio confirmed that these improvements will arrive in two waves, beginning with the Season 1 update on October 28, 2025 — the same day the rumored Battlefield 6: RedSec battle royale mode is expected to launch.

The second wave of challenge tweaks will follow later in the season, continuing to fine-tune difficulty and progression pacing.

🏁 Final Thoughts

Battlefield 6’s challenge overhaul is shaping up to be a much-needed quality-of-life improvement that brings balance back to the grind.

By cutting down on repetitive objectives and removing unrealistic milestones, EA is ensuring that unlocking new weapons and gadgets feels rewarding — not exhausting.

With Season 1 right around the corner and major updates on the horizon, Battlefield 6 players can finally look forward to a smoother, more enjoyable progression experience.
