Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta Update – TTK Tweaks, Door Fixes, Weapon XP Boosts & More

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta has only been live for a couple of days, but Treyarch is already making adjustments based on community feedback. From time-to-kill balancing to automatic door fixes, players can expect several updates to drop this weekend as the studio fine-tunes the experience.

🔫 Time-to-Kill & Weapon Balancing

TTK has been one of the hottest topics since early access began on October 2. Many fans felt the pace was a bit faster than Black Ops 6. Treyarch confirmed that a weapon balance pass is coming in the next few days, designed to:

  • Adjust TTK across the board.

  • Ensure every weapon is competitive in its class and role.

  • Refine balance before the full launch lineup of 30 weapons goes live.

🚪 Automatic Door Adjustments

Doors are once again a big talking point. While manual doors were removed after community backlash in past entries, the current automatic doors sparked debate. Treyarch plans to ease frustrations with the following changes:

  • Certain doors will remain open from the start of the match.

  • Doors will now stay open longer before closing.

  • Increased distance required for doors to auto-open.

  • Players can still shoot doors to open them.

The studio is also considering:
- Reducing the overall number of automatic doors.
- Adding a toggle to disable them in Private Matches for competitive play.

🛠️ Weapon XP, Overclock, Spawns & Bug Fixes

To help players unlock more attachments and experiment during the beta, Treyarch is boosting progression:

  • Increased Weapon XP earn rate.

  • Increased Overclock earn rate for loadout items and Scorestreaks.

  • Improved spawn logic for better placement across maps and modes.

  • Various bug fixes, including issues with loadouts, perks, grenades, and certain Scorestreaks.

📋 Day 2 Patch Notes (Already Live)

UI Fixes
- Fixed an issue where social menus would close when marked “away.”
- Addressed navigation errors between menu tabs.
- Fixed login delays.

Stability Fixes
- Improved server stability related to loadouts, perks, and Scorestreaks like Skewer and Drone Pod.

⚠️ Gravemaker Scorestreak Still Controversial

One item not being adjusted yet is the Gravemaker scorestreak, which allows players to spot enemies through walls and eliminate them with a single shot. Some fans argue it needs a nerf, while others believe its high cost justifies the power. For now, Treyarch isn’t touching it during the beta.

⏰ When to Play the Beta

  • Early Access: Ongoing now for pre-orders and partnered promotions.

  • Open Beta: Begins October 5 for all players worldwide.

🏆 Final Thoughts

It’s clear Treyarch is listening closely to community feedback. With TTK tuning, door improvements, and faster progression on the way, Black Ops 7’s beta is shaping up to be one of the most responsive testing periods in recent Call of Duty history.

Stay tuned as more patches drop this weekend — and get ready to grind your way to level 30 before the beta wraps up.
