Helldivers 3 Could Feature a Destiny-Style Social Hub
Helldivers 2 has brought players together like never before, allowing **crossplay between Xbox Series X | S, PS5, and PC gamers** in the fight for Super Earth. One fan request that’s been circulating is a Destiny-style social hub—similar to the tower where players gather, socialize, and prepare for missions. While this won’t be coming to Helldivers 2, it might be a feature in Helldivers 3. |
👨💼 Developer Confirmation
Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani recently addressed the social hub request on Reddit, saying:
“It’s on the feature list for the next one.”
However, he cautioned fans not to expect it anytime soon. During a Discord discussion, Jorjani explained:
“We honestly are focusing on the here and now. [Helldivers 3] is hopefully many years away.”
This means players will have to wait a while before moving into a communal social space in the Helldivers universe.
🐛 Helldivers 2 Current Status
Despite the lack of a social hub, Helldivers 2 continues to thrive, recently surpassing 500,000 concurrent players. The launch of the Into the Unjust update added new challenges, including the formidable Hive Lords on the Hive Worlds. These enemies are nearly impossible to defeat without nukes, making for some hilariously one-sided battles if you try.
Jorjani has mentioned that the majority of Helldivers 2 players enjoy the game “silently,” without providing much feedback. Still, the development team has been actively releasing patches and updates to fix bugs and ensure gameplay remains smooth. Players can continue taking down giant interstellar bugs without interruption.
⚔️ Final Thoughts
While Helldivers 2 remains a thrilling and challenging experience, the promise of a Destiny-style social hub in Helldivers 3 gives fans something to look forward to. The crossplay features, ongoing updates, and community-driven content keep players engaged as they prepare for what could be an even bigger adventure in the next installment.
