Fans of the legendary Tomb Raider franchise may soon get another chance to revisit one of Lara Croft’s classic adventures. According to a new report, Tomb Raider: Anniversary might be making its way to PS4 and PS5, following recent remasters of earlier entries in the series.

Released in 2007, Anniversary was created as a remake of the original Tomb Raider from 1996, celebrating the franchise’s 10-year milestone. The game followed Lara Croft’s globe-spanning journey to uncover the Scion of Atlantis, blending updated visuals with nostalgic gameplay.
Although praised critically, Anniversary didn’t perform as well commercially, ultimately becoming the lowest-selling mainline entry in the franchise. Despite that, it has remained a fan favorite among longtime Tomb Raider players.

The strongest clue for a re-release comes from the PlayStation Network, where a full trophy list for Tomb Raider: Anniversary recently surfaced. The update includes 26 trophies, capped off with a Platinum Trophy—something not available in the original version.

Like Legend, Anniversary is expected to be included in the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus, making it more accessible to subscribers who want to revisit Lara’s past adventures.

The re-release comes at a time when the franchise’s future feels uncertain. Since Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018, fans have mostly seen remasters and ports rather than brand-new entries.
Outside of gaming, the franchise is expanding into other media. Amazon recently confirmed a Tomb Raider TV series, with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner cast as Lara Croft.
